Crossnet Criminal Justice Ministry - Harris County TX

Rehabilitation Begins Within The Heart

CrossNet is a fellowship of Christian men and women who are gifted with compassion and giving hearts, empowered to share the infinite and life-changing love of Jesus Christ with incarcerated men and women. Operating in cooperation with state and local criminal justice systems, CrossNet provides a Christ-centered process of teaching and practical assistance to prisoners through weekly Bible discipleship study programs, life skills training programs, marriage and parenting seminars, and special events. The intent is to help them and their families build new lives independent of the criminal justice system.

The criminal justice system is designed to control a prisoner's environment. However, a person's lawlessness and rebellion is from sin within the heart, which only God can change. CrossNet attempts to affect change from the inside out, introducing prisoners to genuine, life-changing, Christ centered principles through a variety of counseling and training programs.

True rehabilitation is a process that takes a person from a life without purpose or direction to spiritual rebirth, mental renewal and a realignment of priorities and values.

Since 1993, CrossNet has served in five (5) Houston area prisons and jails; shared the Gospel and held weekly Bible studies for 9,200 inmates; provided free clothes to 150 ex-offenders; encouraged 1,300 prison staff members. Upon release, 11,000 ex-offenders received free employment guides within their area.

Praise God! All this with only 50 active CrossNet volunteers!
